Search Engine Strategies (SES), London 2007

Submitted by Adam King on 20 February, 2007 - 19:38.

I finally made it to SES London after six years in the industry, and I have to say that it was a great three days. I attended with a collegue from work and I think he'll agree that we had a fantastic time.

I'll be adding some tips gleaned from the conference in the future, but to start off I'll just disclose what I felt were the top moments of the event for me.

  1. The chance to network and talk with other professionals in the industry. Chatting to Rand Fishkin of SEOMoz, to Matt Cutts of Google and Chris Sherman of SearchEngineLand.
  2. Watching (and filming) the keynote address by Matt Cutts. You can see footage of the keynote address at SEO Tutorials.
  3. Having much of my understanding of search marketing confirmed by other leading industry professionals.
  4. Being reminded that I don't know it all. :-) No matter which talk I attended, there was always something new for me to go away and think about.
  5. The LondonSEO conference after-party, where we met many new people including Pete Wailes, with whom we spent a long time chatting about the future of all things search.

I think I may try to go again sometime. No, I will go again. I just hope I don't have to wait another six years before I do.
