I finally made it to SES London after six years in the industry, and I have to say that it was a great three days. I attended with a collegue from work and I think he'll agree that we had a fantastic time.
I'll be adding some tips gleaned from the conference in the future, but to start off I'll just disclose what I felt were the top moments of the event for me.
- The chance to network and talk with other professionals in the industry. Chatting to Rand Fishkin of SEOMoz, to Matt Cutts of Google and Chris Sherman of SearchEngineLand.
- Watching (and filming) the keynote address by Matt Cutts. You can see footage of the keynote address at SEO Tutorials.
- Having much of my understanding of search marketing confirmed by other leading industry professionals.
- Being reminded that I don't know it all. :-) No matter which talk I attended, there was always something new for me to go away and think about.
- The LondonSEO conference after-party, where we met many new people including Pete Wailes, with whom we spent a long time chatting about the future of all things search.
I think I may try to go again sometime. No, I will go again. I just hope I don't have to wait another six years before I do.
